Bajaur Sports Complex Reopens for Activities: Sports have officially returned to the Bajaur Sports Complex after a nearly two-month hiatus. The resumption follows directives from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary, Shahab Ali Shah.
The facility had recently served as temporary shelter for families displaced from Lowi and War Mamund tehsils. To mark its reopening, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali Khan and Additional Deputy Commissioner Shahid Rafiq Gandapur visited the complex to review arrangements.
The district administration and sports office launched the “Naway Sahar Sports Events” to celebrate the revival. The festivities began with a hockey match where the Bajaur Hockey Team secured an impressive victory. Deputy Commissioner Khan distributed prizes to the standout players.
Officials also inspected the cricket ground, directing immediate repairs and cleaning to ensure local youth have access to quality facilities. A cricket match between the Barbados Tigers and Barbados Kings was held. Signaling the return of cricket competitions.
DC Khan expressed optimism, stating, “We hope to soon revive all sports grounds in Bajaur and provide more opportunities for our youth to engage in healthy activities.” The events drew large crowds of players and sports enthusiasts, who eagerly enjoyed their favorite games once again.
